I have a lot of WIPs, thought I would take time to share.
This is the Rivers Wrap from Ravelry. I have pretty much put everything else aside to work on this. The pattern called for worsted weight, but I had four skeins of DK weight in the yoko and stovepipe. The yarn is Madelinetosh Tosh Merino DK. So I went to my favorite knit shop, Colorful Yarns, to pick out a couple more colors. I have increased the number of rows on the first section to get my width, (I even added a bit of more width) and the number of color rows for each section. Thus, I have had to add more rows for each color so that I will get my length. It is using much more yarn than I expected, but I think it will be worth it in the end to not have skimped. What do you think?
Next is another Let’s Get Lost scarf (a Ravelry pattern). This will be for my daughter, Sheri. It is Madelinetosh Merino Light. It is a fun to make, although if you are not careful with the second half you will get lines in your mesh. It is so hard to pick up a drop stitch, especially when it happens on the yo/k2tog part. And if you rip out rows and are not careful which row to restart with or if it is front or back, then you have more to rip out. But it is a beautiful scarf. I think the strips in the sockinette are very clever. Yes, they are knitted and not sew on.
WIP i#3 s for my daughter-in-law, Heidi. Again, a pattern from Ravelry called Saroyan. It is assymetrical with a garter stitch border on side and a leaf design on the other side. The yarn is Madelinetosh Merino DK. Yeah, I kinda went crazy with the tosh this time. But name one thing there is not to like about Madelinetosh yarn?
Gruff is modeling my Hitchhiker scarf, again found on Ravelry. The yarn is Dragonfly Pixie. I love all the colors, I will be able to wear it with anything. And I love doing the garter stitch. It is so mindless and relaxing. I sometimes will listen to meditation music and practice breathing while doing garter stitch.
Soon I will have all of the information about these projects posted on my Ravelry page, frazzldknitter (no ‘e’).
Gruff, the boney dog, is a sneak preview of all my Halloween decorating that I will blog about soon.
This is not all my WIPs. I do have a few more, only three I can think of, that I will share with you at some point.
Until then, HAPPY KNITTING AND BLOGGING!
