It has been almost 32 years since Sandi came into my life. That was when I met the greyt spouse, her father, and she was 13.
We embarked on a journey that neither of us would know the outcome. She had this ‘tough act’. She felt that it protected her and that no one would bother her. I quickly learned Sandi had very soft, gentle and caring nature. She spent extra time with the dogs, loving them and you could always find them in her room. Sandi had a special way with my youngest, who has severe learning disabilities. Whenever Erin would see Sandi, she got a huge grin and immediately put her hands to her ears and waved them. This was the sign for Mickey Mouse, thus it was also Sandi’s name.
Sandi met a boy in junior high. His name was Erik. They married young and are still together. No matter how hard times were, she remained determined to work through them. She has definitely proved she also has a tough side.
Sandi, you are an amazing women and I am very proud of you. You are so strong, yet so gentle. I only wish we had more time together. A happy belated birthday to a greyt daughter.
